GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGNER WITH EXPERIENCE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT!

Hello, my name is Megan Kish and I’m a graphic designer / web designer with experience, seeking employment. In the time I’ve been in the field, I’ve designed a little bit of everything; trade show booths, web sites, brochures, flyers, postcards, tickets, corporate identities including logos, letterhead, business cards, envelopes and more. Graphic Design is my passion. I take great pride in the work that I do. I am proficient in th following applications:

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Dreamweaver
• Adobe InDesign
• QuarkXpress

I also have small amounts of knowledge in the areas of Adobe Flash and the browser-based content management system, Joomla.

In addition to program knowledge, I have gained a wealth of information pertaining to file set-up, printer set-up, print and web standards, client relations and in general, being creative! Knowing the demand for cleaner design, I have also become proficient in tableless, CSS-driven web design.

Canned

so, a friend of mine and myself got CANNED yesterday.  Not because we’re bad at our jobs, but because the “Real Estate Industry is doing poorly”.  Yes, that’s right, we worked for an in-house design company (who shall remain nameless) that was partially owned by a Real Estate Company (who shall also remain nameless).  As devastating as this was to me, I am now in a search for a new job… GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGNER WITH EXPERIENCE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT!

3 Weeks Down - 3 To Go!

So Daron has been in Florida [for job training] since January 14th and he has until February 22nd before he can return.   3 weeks down, 3 to go.  It’s so much harder than I ever imagined.  I don’t know how people do long-distance relationships.  THEY SUCK!

Currently watching the NHL All-Star game!  Awesome!  Bummed that Crosby can’t make it, but pumped that Malkin could take his place!  Go Malkin, Go Gonchar!

Its Friday!

Yes, that’s right, ITS FRIDAY!  I love my job, I really do!  BUT, I love Friday’s even more!  No matter what I’m doing, no matter how much I love it, I will always look forward to spending time with loved ones!  Currently I can’t do that, so it is a bit bittersweet.  Daron is in Florida for 6 weeks of job training so the weekends aren’t as fabulous as they used to be.  BUT, i do get to spend some time with friends so that’s always nice too!

$600

So it looks like I’ll be getting a check for $600 in the mail around June! I’ll take it. I’ve been saving up to move out (for the second time), and that will definitely help! Although I’m not quite sure how giving me $600 of government money is going to help the economy. Okay, I admit, I’m not the most political person and I don’t necessarily pride myself on my knowledge of current events. I guess with the upsell price and taxes that they government will make their money back plus more… but it just seems like a weird way to boost the economy!

Maybe what they really need to do is start selling things a little cheaper. I always felt, in a country where lower to middle class is the majority, that if USA MADE products where sold as cheap as your imported products where then maybe you’d make some money. I hate that people bitch about the fact that Walmart sells all these products that are made in China. OK, tell me where I can find USA made products and I will buy those. The majority of the people that shop at Walmart shop there because its cheaper. Can we see a trend?? In a country where gas is $3.19 a gallon, of course I’m going to buy my things a little cheaper to compensate. Why would I go buy something more expensive when I can get the same item cheaper.

I don’t know, maybe this should be another post, another time! Maybe I’m not making any sense. whatever.

I hate Starbucks!

I’ve been out of creamer at my house for about a week now, and I can’t make coffee without creamer!  I even tried steaming milk - just wasn’ t strong enough!  I had a $5 Starbucks giftcard and thought, “oh well, I may as well use it.”  So I left for work EXTRA early and went to Starbucks.  I ordered the Cinnamon Dulce Latte.  I HATED IT!  I make better tasting coffee!  IMO of course, but STILL!  I was so mad!  I do however like the Frappachinos, but it was 10° outside, I don’t want a cold drink!!!

So,  I won’t be going to Starbucks for much anymore.  Long Live Caribou Coffee!   AAANNNND, I need to buy creamer!
